After a difficult 2017 in which WorldVentures was slammed with a class-action lawsuit alleging that the company is a pyramid scheme, President and Chief Strategy Officer Eddie Head gave an unhinged speech at the company’s annual United conference mocking his distributors [13:40] and pushing the DreamTrips brand. He also announced the launch of DreamTrips Local which includes deals for vacations within the United States.
Earlier this month, WorldVentures launched a redesigned DreamTrips.com, and it appears that the company is taking steps to move away from the WorldVentures name. This might be the best course of action for the company considering it was banned in Norway in 2014 after a judge concluded the company was a pyramid scheme and they are currently trying to fight another similar lawsuit in the U.S.
Founded in 2005 by Wayne Nugent, WorldVentures expanded quickly to 34 markets across the world in 13 years. In 2016, the company disclosed it had annual revenue of $926 million. However, it’s clear that the company has been struggling over the past year, even to the point of not disclosing it’s 2017 revenue.
